בית המדפיס הממשלתי

קרן הון-סיכון JVP  הוקמה על-ידי אראל מרגלית בשנת 1993. לאחר שפעלה מספר שנים ממבנים שכורים, החליטה הקרן בשנת 2005 לשכור את מתחם המדפיס הממשלתי לשעבר ולהתאימו לצרכיה.
בית המדפיס הממשלתי הוקם בשנת 1937 בסמוך לתחנת הרכבת הראשונה בירושלים. הבניין הינו מבנה לשימור שתוכנן בסגנון הבינלאומי. את המבנה תכנן האדריכל הבריטי אוסטן סיינט ברב הריסון ((Austen St. Barbe Harrison (1891–1976), האדריכל הראשי של מחלקת העבודות הציבוריות בממשל המנדטורי הבריטי בפלשתינה.
המבנה הותאם לצרכיה של חברת JVP ולשימושן של חברות הֶזנֵק (סטארט-אפ) נוספות.
על מנת לשמר את המבנה ולשקמו מבלי לפגוע בקונסטרוקציה הקיימת ובחללים הפנימיים המרכזיים, בוצעו חיזוקים קונסטרוקטיביים מורכבים בשילוב בטון ופלדה.
על מנת להתאים את המבנה לצרכים מודרניים של המשתמשים ולתקנים עדכניים בתחום הבנייה, הותקנו במבנה מערכות אלקטרו-מכניות מודרניות ומורכבות.
בחזיתות שהוגדרו לשימור נשמרו החלונות המקוריים או שוחזרו חלונות דומים למקור.
בנוסף בוצעו במגרש עבודות פיתוח אשר יחד עם שיקום המבנים יצרו חללים ואווירה המאפשרים יצירה ושיתוף.
