The center was constructed on a complex site from an urban standpoint (on sites with an historic character) opposite the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. Archaeological findings were discovered on the site that required extraordinary treatment during design of the building and its construction.
The center fulfills three basic functions:
– As a research and teaching institution.
– As a study center and museum covering the life of Menachem Begin and his legacy.
– As a conference center that is also used as a lecture hall, theater and auditorium, with a miniature model of Israel’s Knesset, which is used as 60 seat classroom
