Yad Vashem – Archive and Library

Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, was established in by law 1953. Sited on the Mount of Remembrance in Jerusalem, it has been developed over a number of years.
The archive and library are located on the northern slopes of the Yad Vashem site.
The Archives and Library Building contains:
A library and information center for the general public, workrooms for researchers, reading and study halls, storage rooms under controlled conditions that preserve the original exhibits, a center for rehabilitation, preservation and restoration of damaged archival materials, as well as offices of the archives management.
The project is characterized by its integration into the unique landscape of the Jerusalem Forest and employs complex technological means to control and protect the original documents and exhibits.
