The Russian Compound – Jerusalem

The Russian compound is located between Yafo, Shivtei Israel and Heleni Hamalka streets in Jerusalem near the Jerusalem Municipal Complex. Development of the site is part of the municipal complex urban development project. The new plan combines the preservation of buildings suitable for preservation such as the Russian Church and Hagvura Museum, together with development of the compound.
This plan made it possible to increase the size of existing buildings, and allows new uses to be determined for them (hotels, offices). The zoning allows for a new hotel combined with tourist attractions, as well as to buildings intended for multipurpose use such as offices and independent living facilities. This plan was approved in 2003.
